As Collections Specialist, you will perform collections and cash application processes for approximately 500 accounts and be responsible for the timely collection of customer receivables, following up on past due accounts and applying cash receipts to customer accounts.

The Collections Specialist will report to the Treasury Manager and work collaboratively with the billing, revenue, sales, legal and accounting teams and will interact regularly with employees, customers and auditors.

Your Role in Action

    • Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
    • Monitor accounts receivable for past-due accounts, manage collection activities with customers and escalate issues to account managers and management, as needed
    • Responsible for timely and accurate application of cash to customer accounts daily
    • Prepare analytical and ratio analysis in relation to A/R for management to gain a better understanding of how collection efforts are progressing
    • Produce regular reports on the status of unpaid accounts
    • Manage Salesforce ticket queue to investigate and resolve any irregularities or inquiries
    • Involvement with month end close process
    • Support other accounting and billing team members as necessary

Qualifications

    • 4 years of Collections/Accounts Receivables experience (Software or Technology industry preferred)
    • Knowledge of laws and policies related to debt collection
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Excellent customer service, negotiation, verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Salesforce and Sage Intacct experience preferred
