Accelerate your career with a new position on our team that includes rotational assignments through both our Claims Contact Center and Service organizations. In this hybrid role, you will have exposure to our Property and Casualty Claims and our Customer Service organizations as you help customers when they need us the most. You will gain first-hand knowledge of both claims and service as we provide all the training and tools necessary for you to be successful as you begin your career path at The Hartford.
Starting as a Customer Service Representative in our Claims Contact Center,your primary role is to provide service to policyholders and claimants in response to notice of auto physical damage, workers’ compensation, and property losses. You will work with customers in taking new losses, resolving/answering problems, responding to information requests, and processing claims.
Depending on skill level proficiency and business need, you will be able to transition into either our Personal Lines or Small Commercial Service organization in as little as 4-5 months following your start date. You will provide high quality, low effort experiences for auto & home policyholders and or agents and small business owners by providing digital first solutions and handling policy service requests. You will have the tools to be successful in remaining personally resilient and adaptable during change and high intensity customer/agent interactions.
Once trained in both our Claims Contact Center and Customer Service organizations you would handle interactions in both contact centers where you continue to build skill and capability as you continue your career. Compensation will be reviewed throughout your learning journey as you obtain additional skillset and responsibility.
Start date is September 19, 2022
Training Hours are Monday – Friday, 10:30AM – 7:00PM EST for the first 6 weeks of employment.
After training, the year-round shift will be Monday – Friday, 10:30AM – 7:00PM EST + every other Saturday (9:30AM – 6:00PM EST), with Wednesday or Thursday comp day when working Saturday.
Be the first point of contact to our policyholders, explaining the claims process, initiating damage appraisal and organizing car rental where appropriate
Initiate claims according to claims best practices, as assigned and provide exceptional customer service
Utilize multiple computer applications to accurately document claim information
Take ownership to ensure that we go above and beyond to service each caller’s needs, utilizing every touch point as an opportunity to build value and The Hartford brand
Be provided with 6 weeks of paid training as well as ongoing coaching and development to ensure your success
A demonstrated background in customer service, insurance, retail, restaurant or a related field
Excellent communication skills with strong ability to empathize with customers
Strong attention to detail
Experience working in a Windows-based computer environment
The ability to work in a collaborative environment
Problem solving and critical thinking skills and have a strong attention to detail.
You use excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingual – Spanish/English is a plus) to develop and enhance strong impactful customer relationships
High School Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree a plus
This is a 100% remote, work from home opportunity
Availability to work all holidays is required, including holidays that fall on your normal days’ off
As a condition of employment, you will be required to successfully complete a multi-week New Hire Training Course and, upon completion, obtain a passing score on the final course assessment. Continued employment with The Hartford is contingent upon you successfully passing the exam(s) within 30 business days from the completion of the New Hire Training. You should have no schedule conflicts during training.

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$34,400 – $51,600
