The National Account Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of national account(s) to include contract negotiation, program implementation, savings, policy alignment, recommendations, enhancements, reporting, and overall advisory and management. Additionally, the National Account Manager will deliver business planning and reviews, and establishing relationships with key decision makers in multiple regions. Responsible for strategic management of a select portfolio (or company name, if dedicated) by delivering all core account management components and value-added services. The National Account Manager will interact with procurement minded clients with a focus on benchmarks, KPMs and KPIs. This position also has responsibility for client retention, profitability of the account portfolio, growth and overall customer satisfaction.

Reporting & Working Relationship:

  • Reports to Manager, Client Consulting
  • Serves as business owner and interacts on a regular basis with clients’ travel managers, executive directors, and senior management
  • Working with client to identify short-term and long-term objectives and outline solutions to achieve objectives
  • Review and analyze client data and present strategic recommendations on an ongoing basis and create action plan to implement each program objective with actions and timelines
  • Plan and execute quarterly business reviews and one annual, c-level strategic business review
  • Develop Service Level Agreements for Service, Savings, Program Performance, Technology and Communication requirements
  • Working with Supplier Relations, evaluate success of client preferred supplier programs, assess and recommend areas for improvement
  • Maintains a client retention goal of 99% or higher
  • Assist with development and maintenance of strategic national account management and supplier relationships
  • Coordinates all internal resources to ensure the fulfillment of all service components and delivery of value-added services, products and tools


  • Proven account management skills which have been demonstrated for a minimum of three years
  • Procurement management skills, contract negotiations, for a minimum of three years
  • Fluent in business English, Spanish is a plus
  • College / University degree
  • Presentation skills for a variety of audience types and sizes (2 to 200 people)
  • Proven oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external audiences
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data in order to identify opportunities to reduce costs and to recommend appropriate solutions
  • Problem solving skills encompassing the ability to listen, identify the root problem, present appropriate alternative solutions and determine the best solution using a systematic approach
  • Must be able to travel 10% minimal and additionally as job requires
