Family Promise, the national leader in addressing family homelessness, is seeking candidates for a part-time Administrative Assistant to support our network of 200+ Affiliates. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Administrative Assistant to engage with and support the quick-pace operations of our Affiliate Services team and other teams, as needed. This position requires 25-30 hours per week and will report to the Chief of Staff.

Our holistic, community-based response delivers a comprehensive set of solutions through prevention, shelter, and stabilization services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Track and maintain program and partnership engagement in Salesforce
  • Update contacts and data in databases, including Salesforce and Mailchimp
  • Assist with Affiliate compliance processes and follow up
  • Assist with all aspects of pass-through funding including MOUs (sent via DocuSign), calendaring meetings, ensuring payments, and collecting data
  • Create, edit, and update collateral materials including PowerPoint presentations, letters, advisories, toolkits, and manuals
  • Assist with email communications including use of bulk email systems and mail merge
  • Schedule meetings and take notes
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of reports
  • Manage distribution of in-kind goods via national partnerships
  • Assist with various aspects of the preparations for national conferences
  • Manage logistics for webinar trainings


  • Passion for Family Promise’s mission – to help families experiencing homelessness and low-income families achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response
  • Ability to be a team player and interface with all levels of staff
  • Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Professional, conscientious, friendly, and enthusiastic
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, to establish priorities, to work and make judgments independently, and take initiative
  • Strong Proficiency with Office 365 applications
  • Proficiency with MailChimp, Salesforce, DocuSign, Canva, mail merge a plus

Schedule and travel

  • Candidate may be based out of the Summit, NJ national office or work remotely.
  • Position requires 25-30 hours per week
  • Some limited travel will be required, primarily to national conferences
