The Associate Counsel will partner with CIS team members to promote the CIS mission and help support our growth; the primary focus of this position is to provide legal support to the Sales and Business Services team.
What You’ll Do
- Provide legal support to CIS’s Sales and Business Services operations
- Draft, negotiate and edit sophisticated contractual arrangements, both domestically and internationally
- Work with various internal and external stakeholders and provide legal support for other parts of the organization as the need arises
- Conduct legal research as needed
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
What You’ll Need
- Juris Doctor Degree from accredited institution
- 3-6 years’ experience as a practicing attorney
- Active member of a state bar in good standing
- Strong commercial drafting skills for a variety of commercial contracts and agreements, including vendor contracts, purchase agreements, purchase orders and terms and conditions
- Must be able to handle a significant number of legal issues and negotiations simultaneously, and to be able to prioritize competing demands
- High level of personal integrity and accountability, and demonstrated level of maturity, discretion and judgment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
It’s a Plus if You Have:
- Active member of New York State Bar, or ability to qualify for in-house counsel registration in New York
- Prior in-house legal experience, preferably working with sales teams
- Prior non-profit law experience
- Prior experience with cybersecurity or technology industry
- Prior experience with contract management software
