Content Writer, VoIP and Business Communication Technology Specialist at Fit Small Business – FSB

The Content Writer, VoIP, and Business Communication Technology Specialist create high-quality, authoritative content for small businesses with a focus on voice over IP systems, and similar business communication topics. The Content Writer, VoIP, and Business Communication Technology Specialist has 2+ years of experience implementing, managing, or writing about Information Technology or VOIP systems for business knows the industry inside and out and is able to provide their audience with the best answers to their questions about how to get the most out of their communication platform. Previous writing experience is a must. This role works closely with designated SEO and BD representatives, as well as with Content Producers and other Staff Writers.

This role has the potential for rapid advancement for individuals who enjoy developing content strategy as well as writing.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Writes publishable first drafts of 2-4 articles each week
  • Consistently meets deadlines with articles of the highest quality
  • Demonstrates expertise in the field of communication technology. Working knowledge of B2B sales processes or SaaS software preferred.
  • Learns how to ideate future articles in the field of expertise, working with the Director of Content on a content calendar
  • Learns how to do keyword research
  • Works with SEO/marketing and business development teams to connect the work of those teams with your content
  • Begins working on bigger content projects, offering expertise
  • Collaborates with their PR team to increase visibility on your topic(s)
  • Attends conferences, panels as an expert in business phone and unified communications technology and as an ambassador of FSB


  • You have 2 years minimum experience working with VoIP products or comparable SaaS solutions
  • You have subject matter expertise in business phone system implementation
  • Preferred experience with popular VoIP software
  • You have experience writing articles for an online business-centric audience
  • You are collaborative and enjoy working with multiple team members
  • You have a basic understanding of SEO
  • You are self-motivated and able to manage your time to meet deadlines
  • You are open to feedback, and strive to learn something new every day
  • You are passionate about delivering the best answers to people’s questions
  • You are comfortable working in a startup environment where things change quickly
